Defense contractors have exposed American soldiers, veterans and former employees of U.S. defense contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan to toxic smoke, ash and fumes generated through the improper disposal of waste in open burn pits. The allege that exposure to the pits’ smoke, ash, and fumes cause serious diseases, an increased risk of developing serious diseases and an increased risk of death.
Open air burn pit exposure have caused serious illness. Additional people began to surface with similar allegations, some of whom were family members of former active duty service members who had died of rare cancers soon after returning home from camps and bases with on-site burn pits. According many of the cancers reported are known to be caused by the types of dioxins emitted from burn pit toxic fumes, smoke and ashes.
Contracted to provide waste disposal services for the United States operations in Iraq and/or Afghanistan include: Texas-based contractors KBR, Inc.; Kellogg, Brown & Root Services, Inc.; Kellogg, Brown & Root LLC and Halliburton Company.
Seeking radio, reporters, writers, and national networks in helping burn pit victims expose these contrators listed above.
