About Me
I spent a total of 13 years between Active and Reserve Service in the Army. I made Rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. I served in Iraq and Afghanistan. I was injured in Afghanistan and was flown via medevac to Germany. From there I spent about another year in Hawaii then was medicaly retired as SGT E-5 in 2005 and put on the recall list. In 2007 I was recalled to Active Duty and was promoted to SSG E-6 and served as the Rear Detachment Platoon Sgt and for about 3 months I was the Rear D 1SG for a General Support Avation BN. I was in charge of training all newcoming Soldiers to the 1st ID Combat Avaition Brigade so I could send them to meet our unit in Iraq. I was also the Anti Terrorisom, Force Protection for Marshal Army Airfield, Ft Riley, KS. On 3 JUL 09 I was put back on the Retirement list. I now recive that pention and with my extra time I am a Life Member of the VFW, DAV, and a member of the American Legion, American Legion Riders, and the Freemason Riding Club. I also am a Master Mason and I am a Noble of Isis Shrine in Salina, KS. With the Shrine I belong to the Legion of Honor. This is a uniformed unit of the Shrine that requires you to be a Veteran. Another gloomy day. But hey Ive seen people who have had it way worse. I could be sleeping in the mountains freezing my butt off or I could be coverd with sweat and sand. So I guess Im pretty happy and greatful.
