About Me
Doc Killian is a 50 year old factory worker who has spent about 20 years working in factories since he arrived home after spending 7 years as a U.S. Army Medic. A few years ago, his wife of 20 years talked him into listening to a bluegrass CD with the song "Darlin Nellie Grey" performed by the "Stanley Brothers". He liked the song so much that he was determined to learn how to play. So, he went and bought a banjo. While practicing daily, he started coming up with some tunes and lyrics to the some of the early songs he recorded. The banjo went on the shelf for a while so he could continue writing. While recording his first CD, "The Factory Worker", at WSDS Radio in Ypsilanti , Michigan , he met and became good friends with Bobby "Swampgrass" Anderson . Bobby was one of "The Westerners" (the band that started Mel Tillis in his career in Okinawa in the 1950's). Bobby and Doc worked together on Doc's next 2 CDs, "Red, White & BlueCollar" and "Blue Collar Business Suit". After a successful launch of those albums, Doc started recording the 4th album, "Boss And Work Are 4-Letter Words" with William Davis (a fellow worker, a friend, and excellent musician with 35 years experience as a professional). Bobby, Bill, and Doc worked on and released this latest CD which is now on the move in 30+ countries and the U.S. The List: -60+ Songs copyrighted and registered with BMI -Airplay of 21 songs in the U.S. -30 Live performances: -International Country Music Festival -Nashville, TN (Top 20 of 220) -Other appearances include: -Numerous Live radio show appearances -UAW Worker Writer Festival - Numerous appearances with: -The Huron Valley Express and The Radio Gang Band -Newest Addition to Country Stars Online-Featured Artist by CountryHome.de(Berlin)Dec Issue -Featured Artist by Country Planet News-Jan/Feb -Thank You Letter from President Bush -Song MY FLAG adopted by WBLQ-RI for Country Stew program 3 days a week -Has had 15 songs in the top 2000 of European Airplay -End of Line Time # 15 of top 20 in Ireland/Jan 2005 -#167 Worlwide Most Played Major and Indie Artists Jan 1-15, 2005 -Interviewed by reporter from CountryStars Online and Country Home de(Berlin) -Review by Country Western Corner(E.H.King Music Magazine) said "Doc Killian is a FANTASTIC writer" and "is a very talented and well recieved artist" -Featured Artist April issue Roots Music Report E-Zine -To Our Troops, and Phil Briggs (DJ R.I. Voices shall call us from the dark, will this soul of a man be judged by the heart of his woman? If true what outcome can benefit from the finding, would he stand as stone on principles of passage or bend in the ever blowing change of age with conviction to the aspirations of what can be achieved jointly, showing true emotions with the understanding of what is at hand.

This is a great idea. I'm all for supporting our military. I'm working on a fundraiser as we speak. We will be hosting a chili cookoff in efforts to raise money for America Supports You. We just sent over 80 World War II and Vietnam Veterans on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. It was an experience worth living.
Hey Doc Killian, is there any way I can buy some of your CD's. I enjoy playing Blue grass my self and enjoy playing my Banjo. I have a Deering (Maple Blossom). Sounds like youve got it going on. Im just an old Camp fire Banjo player, but I enjoy it. Write back when you can.
