Both of my parents served in the USAF; my father is a Vietnam vet, retired as SMSGT. My sister and I grew up in seven states plus three years in Japan--what a way to see the country!
Musically speaking, I was raised on Sousa marches and all things military; played 2nd trumpet in my high school band which meant that I got to play all the cool harmonies I was classically trained in voice in college and I've sung in many different ensembles and choirs throughout the years, plus a few friends' weddings Music is an integral part of my life as you may have guessed by now!
I have successfully raised four children--my youngest daughter Noelle serves as a USMC Lance Corporal so I am once again drawn back into the military fold, and happily so. I'm involved with the Adopt A Hero program that supports deployed service personnel and also with a (fairly) local Blue Star Mothers chapter.
I am quasi-retired, living the dream on 26 acres that is mostly hay-producing (1200-1400 bales per year). I have a dozen chickens that keep my husband and myself (AND friends & family) readily supplied with fresh eggs, one old Labrador, one old horse, one cow, and four cats that ensure low rodent and rabbit populations.
